    Ride of Silence - May 17, 2023

On Wed. May 17th, 2023 at 7:00 PM, the Ride of Silence will traverse and unite the globe as nothing before it. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves. (From http://www.rideofsilence.org/main.php.)

In Fort Collins, the Ride of Silence is hosted again this year by Bike Fort Collins, and will visit the sites in Fort Collins where 2 cyclists lost their lives this year. Please visit their event page for more information.

    Ride across the USA

This is Luis Elortondo. Along with my wife Liliana, we are members of the FoCo Cycling Club since 2021.

We wanted to share with you and hopefully with all the members of the club that starting in 05/23, my wife and I will try to ride across the country from Seattle to Annapolis on our tandem bike.

If somebody is interested in following us, we will try to post everyday some comments and info of the day's ride, in our Instagram account #tandem_beyond

    Thank you!

    Liliana & Luis

    Club Leadership

This will be Bill's last year as club president. We are so thankful for everything Bill has done to support this club. Please show him your thanks when you see him next!

We are looking for a new president starting in Fall 2023 - if you are interested please reach out to the board. (board@fccycleclub.org)

    Ride Leaders and Sweepers

We need YOU! As a club we need to do a better job of setting and maintaining the pace for our rides, especially the C group. Many potential new club members have been turned off by the ever-escalating pace of the C rides that always seem to be too fast. We are doubling our efforts to train and equip ride leaders and sweepers to help us be the welcoming, friendly cycling club we all want to be.

Please consider volunteering and/or helping when called upon. The training isn’t onerous, and you can be part of the solution. We are augmenting the C routes with designated regrouping points to help slower riders catch up and help the group stay together.

Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day - June 28, 2023

Once again this June we will have a station at the CSU Oval. We had a lot of fun meeting people and handing out water and FCCC stickers at the Winter BTW Day in February. The Summer version is even more fun because it is rarely bitterly cold in June (but never say never!)

We need volunteers to lead and staff the event, as vacation schedules have made some of our past leaders unavailable this year. Please contact board@fccycleclub.org if interested.

    Wanda’s Ride - August 12/13, 2023

Don’t forget about Wanda’s Ride this year, August 12th with the 13th as a rain date. We have confirmed the event will take place at Grey Rock Sports Grill this year. Reservations are now open! Lunch will be provided by Grey Rock, cost is $15 per person. See the club calendar event for more details.

    CLUB CAMPING TRIP - AUGUST 18-20, 2023

Mark your calendar! Our camping trip this year will be at Estes Park on August 18-20, 2023. Registration for this event will be open by May 1st and we will send out a detailed email with more information.

    Jerseys for Sale

We still have 2 FCCC jerseys available for sale: one is Men's Large, the other is Women’s Medium. The cost is $71.

Are you interested in buying a different jersey, bibs, jacket, or other club-branded product? Please let us know via email to board@fccycleclub.org. We are starting to plan another sale. There are minimum order quantities that we have to meet for each type of item, so we will only offer those with enough demand. So far, demand appears to be zero.

    FoCo Fondo - July 23rd, 2023

FoCo Fondo is a local gravel ride hosted by Fat Tire Brewing which is coming up soon. The event features multiple route lengths from 12 to 128 miles and prices range from $50 to $165. Click here to register. They also host a series of free training rides, usually one per month.
